Default iPhone 2G 'Different Sim Detected'

Hopefully this is quite easy for someone to explain to me.. don't have much experence on the 2G.

I got a 2G, locked to AT&T, put 3.1.3 on it, jailbroke it and installed/ran bootneuter. The settings in Bootneuter show that the phone is now unlocked but when I put my sim card in I get this message and am told to connect it to iTunes. iTunes just tells me the wrong sim card is in there.

The phone gets signal but sits on the Emergency screen. Anyone know how to fix it?

It's an activation issue. When you activate with AT&T.. then throw a T-Mobile SIM in there it freaks out. You need to restore to 3.1.3 and then use redsn0w to jailbreak and activate. The phone will remain unlocked b/c the baseband doesn't change... then you're good to go and you can swap SIMs back and forth.

The message about the SIM not being supported means you have not unlocked the baseband. You need to run redsn0w and check the "unlock" box which will run bootneuter.

Download bootneuter from Cydia then and run it.
