How To Upgrade Iphone 3G Software Without Locking

Hi All,

I have an Iphone 3g on version 3.0 and modem firmware 04.26.08.

I have noticed that when I save an image (e.g from Safari), it appears to be blurry. I think this can be resolved by a software upgrade?

Is there any way I can upgrade to say 3.1.2 or 3.1.3 without locking my iphone.

My Iphone is already unlocked and jailbroken

yeah u can. since u have 04.26.08 modem firmware.
You can update to 3.1.3.

thanks for your response. i have read the tutorial and it seems relatively straight forward.

all the comments to such tutorials seem to be people asking vague questions. rarely does anybody comment whether the tutorial worked for them.

I have used redsnow and ultrasnow to jail break and unlock 3 iphones so far. However I have never known how one is able to update the software whilst preserving the unlock.

put it like this: you won't preserve the unlock but the baseband

you will have to go through the unlocking process using ultrasn0w again

Once I follow the guide to jailbreak, will I be able to access cydia?

I thought the iphone needs to be unlocked to access cydia?

Thanks, I have following the tutorial to jailbreak and unlock my iphone 3g.

Everything is working fine excpet YouTube. When I try opening youtube, I get an error message saying that "cannot connect to youtube". Any ideas how I can resolve this?

All other interest applications (including Mail, Safari, Maps, Weather) are working fine.

Any Ideas?
