It can't be done on this phone using the current crop of jailbreaking apps. I can jailbreak it using redsn0w but the unlock doesn't work. Pwnage Tool doesn't work either. NO SERVICE is what I get on AT&T.

So here's my dilemma: I bought this phone on eBay thinking I could unlock it for use on ATT (I don't have an iphone contract with ATT) but have been unable to unlock it. I want to sell it now for what I bought it ($212) but there is still a lingering doubt in my mind, that the phone has a hardware problem. How can I test it to see if the phone actually sends and receives calls without activating it through iTunes? The iTunes activation process starts with registering your phone with ATT. I definitely don't want to do that. I would blow my cover.
