New SIM in 3G??

my brother is upgrading to the 3gs and as im almays on his 3g i get it. The thing is, i've got a new sim card and i'm not sure if i need to activate it or not, if so how
oh and btw, the 3g im getting is already jbed and the network is o2.

Wont know till you try it. If it doesnt come up activated, just follow the jailbreak tutorials and you'll be good!
