Thought Id share this discovery on signal strength

Just done a re-install of 3.1.2 on my wifes 3G. shes on Orange so Ive gotta unlock it.

attempt 1: created custom FW with Pwnage (used this on her old 2G for many installs without issues)

installed the FW and restored everything ok, noticed that the signal strength was 1 bar at best sometimes 2 bars, but mainly NO SERVICE.
Strange as she had full signal befor the reinstall.

attempt 2: download official 3.1.2 FW and install (all fine)

download Blackra1n RC3, run this, jailbreak successful, run blacksnow - successful.
Signal strength back to full

Im not sure why Pwnage would affect the signal strength, could be something to do with loosing the carrier logo, I dont know.
but if anyone has poor signal on a PWNED iPhone i would suggest trying Blackra1n and see if it makes a difference

Blackra1n at the moment is actually making my signal worse. It didn't for my last iPhone but for this current one it is.

whats the current phone? and what was the old phone?

My last phone was a 3g 8GB 3.1.2 firmware. My phone now is a 3g 16GB 3.1.2. Blackra1n worked perfectly with my last iphone
