When do YOU expect the Unlock and Jailbreak for 3.1.3 BB 5.12.01 ??

ok two days ago i found a brand new white 3gs 16gb iphone, im familiar with jailbraking/unlocking iphones but there doesnt seem to be an official jailbreaking program out for 3.1.3 software yet and it seems that the owner/provider has activated call barring on the fone itself (when i put my sim card back in my other fone it works fine) im hoping that when the jailbrake/unlock is released it will bipass the call barring. opinions.......

Maybe you should turn in the lost phone. Before it gets tracked back to you and they say it was stolen, thus putting you in possesion without reporting it as actually found.

i dont see how i would be tracked down when the original sim card is gone, and turn it in? i just wanna know would the next jailbreak software be likely to bipass this problem?

jap I would turn it in... you can pretty much always track down mobile devices especially if it has a gps chip in it xD

Also everything has serial numbers. Connecting it to itunes will show the serial. Also cell providers can track IMEIs, which is the phone not in the sim. Depending on the country that you live it could be blocked. Some countries have a shared info on stolen phones and blocked IMEIs are shared to the other providers. Thus blocking the service no matter who you go to; which a jb no matter what cannot save you from.


No being all "follow the law" on you just letting you know of the situations that may work against you.

Question about my situation:

- I own a 3GS (previously JB)originally from US on AT&T
- Was JB & Unlocked in Italy on Vodafone SIM
- Upgraded to 3.1.3 after phone OS was corrupted (by me and iFile)
- BB 05.12.01 installed
- Model MB717LL
- After 3.1.3 install, used cingular SIM to make it useable
- Now it's a iPod Touch with a phone that doesn't work.

How can I get it unlocked so I can use the phone? I heard the Spirit JB will not unlock the 3.1.3. Even thought the phone was not bought from Vodafone, do you think they can upload the OS/BB they have on their "official" phones? and fix it? Or do I have to wait until the end of June to be able to use the phone?

Umm, yeah. I am in Italy. I was just using the Cingular SIM to get the phone working. Without the SIM, it was frozen on the "Emergency calls only" screen. I need to be able to talk on the phone using a Vodafone SIM.

Cingular works fine. I used old Cingular card to activate j/b 3G.
I also have 3.1.3, 5.12.01 and 05.09 and cannot unlock this 3G.

Well just to let everyone know. I tried spiritjb.com and it worked like a charm on my 3gs 3.1.3. 05.12.01. But that only jailbroke it but didn't unlock it. I've heard of people who have used some unlocking programs that were for the wrong iPhone models or something that wasen't compatible and next thing you know the phone freezes or needs to be restored or something that makes it unworkable. So my question is which program out there is best for unlocking safely my 3gs 3.1.3. ...... 05.12.01....? Please someone reply. Also I was wondering what a good mywifi hotspot maker is. Because I tried cydia programs found off of YouTube, but nothing works. Instead I'm forced to use free wifi only whenever it's available. So if anyone knows I would appreciate it. Again my idea is to have permanant free wifi whereever I go then use a unrestrictor app so I can permanantly keep running in the background of my iPhone a good free voip with texting so if anyone knows a good free or cheap VOIP with texting, then please let me know sewell.
