unlock iphone 1g to 3.0 or higher?

is it possible to unlock iphone 1st generation to 3.0 frimware? or 3.1.2? cuz EVERYTHING IN THE AP STOR REQUIRES 3.0 OR HIGHER, AND ALL THE TUTORIALS ON THIS SITE ONLY SHOW FOR IPHONE 2G 3G OR 3GS, OR I TOUCH 1G OR 2G!

SOMONE PLEASE HELP! IM ON 2.0.2 FW at the moment.. :[

Yes its very do-able. First gen is a 2g.

ya man download this firmware and save to desktop

then using itunes do a shift restore to that firmware. itll take you to 3.1.2
then go to blackweather and download blackra1n
then run it,
when its done ull get a blackra1n app on ur iphone,
open it and install cydia.
then open cydia and install bootnueter.
then flash ur baseband

congratulations, u are now jailbroken and unlocked

Hi, I just went through the process on my friends 2g iphone. I have restored to 3.1.2 and installed cydia and bootneuter. How do i flash the baseband and unlock it?? I know its simple im just new at this and dont wanna screw it up. thaks

Did it exactly as you show, it seems to be stuck on the "Please Wait determinging current settings..."
I googled it and looks like this happens often but didnt find any solutions. Any ideas?

i just searched it and apparently there was no solution. so try to do the preoceess again, and hope it works this time

Or download custom firmware that is already jailbroken and unlocked. As soon as restore is complete, youre done.

Thanks guys i got it. For future reference with others. I just rebooted phone a few times and popped sim card in and it worked. Thanks for everything

For the next batch of 2G owners ...... PwnageTool v3.1.5 is your friend .
Works on all 2G 3.x versions including 3.1.3.

It takes longer to build the IPSW which is downloaded by iTunes to your phone, but once that is done, everything else happens automatically. BootNeuter, Unlock, Cydia, etc etc etc. I find this method a whole lot simpler .... and because it's a DevTeam release ---- I trust it a whole lot more JMHO
