Unlocking 3G 8GB

It is an iPhone AT&T from the USA and i bought it in UK/England and im trying to use my o2 Sim card in it.

What is the best way to do this ?
Im currently on 3.1.2 jailbroken, i tried bootneuter via cydia but it took ages determining baseband and eventually said this iphone cannot make and receive calls please reset via itunes.

So what firmware works EASY to unlock? I will use RedSn0w to to go back to the best and easiest firmware if i have to.

You don't use bootneuter for a 3G. Add repo blacksn0w.com in Cydia and install Blacksn0w. That will unlock your phone.

Check your baseband in Settings>General>About (it is under Modem Firmware)

If it is 5.11.07 use what I told you above. If it is a diff baseband like 4.xx then use ultrasn0w. If you need help with this (I doubt it I believe you're on 5.11.07) just ask.

Oh that sucks. Unfortunately you can't unlock at this point. You might have to wait three or four months for a new unlock.

But what Im also wondering is.. As this is an american phone locked to AT&T... When the hack comes out will i be able to use a UK o2 sim card in it ok ??

If you have 3.1.3 and modem firmware version 5.12.01 the answer is, no unlock

At the moment it's running 3.1 so I assume that means I can? I've heard from a lot of sources about 3.1.3 so I made sure not to update to it.

more than likely yes. Download f0recast. It doesnt jailbreak or unlock. It simply tells you what you have an the options you have. iH8sn0w.com | Jailbreak your iPod touches and iPhones

Check your baseband/modem firmware under Settings>General>About and if it is not 5.12.01 you can unlock.

It's unanimous then, we have more then a quorum, so nope, no unlock for 5.12.01. lolz
