3G iphone...OS 3.1.3...Baseband 05.12.01...Bootloader 05.09...Possible to UNLOCK ???

thats 1/2 true because,

if you have 5.08 Bootloader YOU CAN UNLOCK, by downgrading baseband

but i have 5.09 :-(

Yeah what happened was I plugged it into iTunes and upgraded EVERYTHING. Musiclee - Yes you can unlock if you had bootloader 5.08, but there were very few 3g made with this. I've unlocked dozens of iphones, and have only come across one. Almost all ive seen are 5.09, which can still be unlocked, but fuzzy wont downgrade.

Vijaykd - Sorry, still no unlock for bb 5.12.01. Not yet anyway.

Someone just had an email sent to me about fuzzy working on 3.1.3. Yes it does, but again ONLY IF YOU HAD 5.08 BOOT LOADER BEFORE UPGRADING. So if you had 5.09, upgraded to 5.12, you CANNOT downgrade, at least not now, and not with fuzzy.

maverik - thanks for your clear info. my phone was jailbroken and unlocked but it crashed and the apple store restored it with 3.13. I think I managed today to downgrade it to 3.12 and I jailbroke it and downloaded Cydia, Ultra Snow, Black Snow and Fuzzy and nothing is working to unlock. I see from Fuzzy that I too have 5.09 which is now 05.12.01. Two questions:

- Does this mean that I successfully jailbroke the phone?
- Is what you are saying above mean that there is no way to currently unlock this version and we should wait for the new exploit to be released?

Many thanks for your help. I am not a technologically savvy person and have spent all day trying to figure this out!

spak - If you have cydia on your phone, then you are jailbroken, Unfortunately, you are correct that you will not be able to unlock yet. If youre baseband is now 5.12.01, there is no unlock available at the present time.

You can unlock BB 05.12.01 with fuzzyband however BL 05.09 is hardware. You're stuck with hardware forever. You can downgrade from iPhone OS 3.1.3 to 3.1.2 and blackra1n which will bypass BL 05.09 however most iPhones get the bootloop issue from blackra1n. You'd have to pick your poison on this one young padawan.

I believe you're mistaken. 5.12.01 is not unlockable by any means right now. Fuzzy will downgrade, but only if BL was originally 5.08 or lower. 5.09 will fail.

Also, there is a fix for the bootloop, which will only work on 5.11.07. It involves re-flashing the baseband. It worked for me.

im with u hiiimhaii.... iPhone 3G with 3.1.3, firmware 3.1.3, bootloader 05.09..... i wish i was super tech savvy so i could find an unlock haha. My friend said he's jailbreaking an iPad (giant iPod touch) then maybe he can find an unlock for this... :/
