Itunes cannot activate your Iphone because of simcard !
hey guys I have tried to jailbreak my Iphone with FW of 3.1.3 and I got an error when I was replacing the old FW with the jailbroken one. So then Iphone locked on the apple logo, then I tried to install the original Apple software just to have it working but as soon as I installed original apple software it started to giving me a sim error. I need to activate it without a sim, I heard that Iactivate is a proper program, but all versions of it for macs and I do not own a mac, is there any other solution for the problem. Thanks.

Since you have installed original apple FW, your baseband has got updated to 5.12 which is currently not supported by any unlocking tools.

I always feel sorry for the guy in the iPhone commercials. He always gets a call right in the middle of trying to do something

I have a question about this issue as I have a similar problem. I had a unlocked 3GS that I bought off eBay and the phone worked flawlessly on T-Mobile. So then I installed an app and it caused my phone to be stuck on the apple logo. Stupidly enough I restored it to 3.1.3 accidentally. My fault and I know theres no way to jailbreak or unlock the phone. So I wanted to throw the phone up for sale since it's useless for me. But I wanted to activate the phone and see if everything still works before selling it. I tried 3 of my friends official AT&T 3g sim cards. And it itunes says its an invalid sim card or possibly from another carrier. Why doesn't it work? My friends have both the blue and orange sim cards from at&t.
So my questions are... Should any at&t sim card work?
Is each sim card registered to work with only one iphone?
If I sell it will the person have to get a new sim card and have it activated by at&t?
Or is my iphone just screwed up?
