Default Accidentally upgraded my unlocked & jailbroken iPhone 3G. Now - "invalid sim"

I have an unlocked and jailbroken iPhone 3G (and i believe it had a ver. 3.1.2 because now it says it is on ver. 3.1.3 after the upgrade) that I purchased in the US. Recently, while connected to my computer I decided to do an upgrade with iTunes. And now my iPhone is saying "Invalid Sim" on the top left hand side. I cannot make calls on it now. Please help! Most postings under "invalid sim" online are from more than a year ago and I am not sure of the same processes to unlock it apply. I am now in Australia and using an Optus sim card when I am in the states I was able to use my iPhone and make calls with a T-Mobile sim card. Basically, my iPhone was working fine before the upgrade! Another thing is when it's connected to iTunes, a message appears saying Invalid Sim Card on iTunes unless I turn the phone to Airplane mode...when I do that iTunes seems to recognise my iPhone again. It helps but I still need to fix it so I can make calls. Can someone please help! Thanks!

    Default Unlock Iphone 3G 3.1.3

I had same problem, mine was even jailed completely...I jailbroke it with snowbreeze, installed fuzzyband from Cydia to downgrade it to modem firmware 04.26.08 ( it depends what kind of firmware you had before). After that I`ve unlocked it with redsnow 9.4.....now it works great

    I wish you luck

Thanks Izwan and Befi. I can't use my sim card so I am tipping my phone is now locked again and I also have lost Cydia so I am tipping that means my iPhone is jail locked again too. I bought the iPhone onlne Jailbroken and Unlocked. How can I find out what firmware I had before? How do I install Fuzzyband if I have now lost Cydia?? I am in downunder now and things with the iPhone are different here too. Seems that any provider can supply you with iPhone unlike the situation in USA with ATT. PLEASE HELP ME!
