I have a 3GS phone that was unlocked on 3.1.2/5.11.07 using blackra1n. Everything worked just fine except YouTube, but since I was in a country with terrible bandwidth, I didn't care until yesterday (and anyway, MxTube worked just fine). I am back in the States in the land of true broadband, so I installed YouTube Fix 1, and it cured the problem. Next I added my Gmail account using the Exchange trick in order to get pushed mail and Google Calendar syncing. Following that, I rebooted, and could no longer see my home wifi network although wifi seems to work just fine (ie, not greyed out). I next hit Reset Network Settings in an attempt to fix the wifi problem, and the phone rebooted. It is now stuck on the Apple screen, endlessly rebooting. Any ideas? I have all the jailbreak/unlock tools on my computer, including the 3.1.2 firmware, but since Apple is no longer signing 3.1.2 for the 3GS, am I screwed? Please advise, and forgive me if this issue has been addressed already-- I DID search the forums. Thanks in advance.
You should be able to locate the 3.1.2 factory firmware on lot of servers. Just download it & flash your iphone. 3.1.2 factory firmware will change your BB version to 5.11.07 which is currently unlockable with blackra1n.
Not to be rude or a smart a**, but dont you read the problem before you reply?
Hes already on 3.1.2 firmware, and 5.11.07 bb, and you cannot "flash" thru iTunes anymore with factory firmware, if not shsh with cydia.
A lot of us are having this same problem, and though we appreciate the effort, making the same suggestions over and over gets a little irritating after the tenth or eleventh time.
Apple started shipping new iPhone 3GS models with updated boot ROM that is not vulnerable to the 24kpwn exploit that has been used to jailbreak iPhone 3GS. Basically whenever you restart your phone you have to re-blackra1n it. and even if you dont have this boot rom, for the 3gs models, resettting network settings will make the phone go into a booting loop and you're gonna have to restore it and re-jailbreak it and refrain from resetting anything.
