iPhone frozzen, how to install 3.1.2?

Hi Buddies,
this is my first thread here and I hope u guys can help me. I already tried the search function without a solution for my problem. My iPhone got frozzen and is only showing up till the black&white apple-screen apears. I guess I have to go 3.1.2 to get it unlocked again for my carrier, but how? I already tried to re-install the OS with the description what is show'n here and on YouTube, but my iTunes always want to connect to their server to download the newest software, so i aborted the download and terminated the fix. For any help I be thankfull

What type of iPhone do u have and do u require an unlock

I have a 3GS with 16GB, baseband 5.11.07,yes I really need to unlock it. I purchased it 4months ago with a At&t lock. My phone crashed after I installed the App Backgrounder from Cydia

i can already tell u u cannot unlock it

How u said i downloaded the f0recast, but it wont give me any information bout my phone, I dont want to go 3.1.3 as long it is not sure that the dev-team can unlock that in future.

The thing is u have to upgrade to 3.1.3 u have no choice. And I'm sorry but ull not have an unlock. But I'm just trying to get ur phone at least jailbroken if u have the The old booteom u can get it jailbroken if u have new one u can't do anything right now

I just saw the pic close iTunes to see if it'll work. Make sure ur phone is plugged In and tell me the info it tells u

It still dont give me any info. Ok, so if Im going 3.1.3 and my phone is running the old bootrom, am I still be able to downgrade it? No if u have old bootrom u can jailbreak. But u cannot downgrade 3gs anymore

Hi, today I decided to go 3.1.3 as I have no other choice. My next problem is that I purchased my phone during the time I visited my brother in L.A. and Im here in Germany right now... now iTunes want to have a unlocked SIM for registration What can I do now? Do I have to contact my brother so he can send me a AT&T SIM or is there any other way? The phone is not tethered but also as u said not unlockable

Please tell me you haven't gone to 3.1.3. I "had" the same problem as you. Sorry I didn't get back to you any sooner but i did leave you breadcrumbs in all fairness. I used a combination of methods to sort my iPhone. 1) I used redsn0w and the original firmware 3.1.2 - redsn0w did something to the original firmware (customized it) BUT it was not able to unlock it, all it did was send my phone into a continuous cycle of loading and sticking 2) I used the method in the youtube video I posted in this forum 3) Then I used iTunes to upload the 3.1.2 redsn0w customized firmware. 4) Within cydia I added the resource "http://blackra1n.com" then installed the blackra1n application, restart the phone, and presto phone unlock and jailbreak.

DON'T GO 3.1.3! ANYONE THAT TELLS YOU TOO REALLY AREN'T GIVING YOU THE BEST ADVICE!

I dont know why battlecrushr is telling you that your phone is unlockable. That is not true. 5.11.07 bb is unlockable with blacksn0w. You should NOT upgrade to factory 3.1.3 firmware, because that will also upgrade your bb to 5.12.01, which is NOT unlockable as of now.

You can download 3.1.2 custom firmware that is already jailbroken with cydia installed (google is your friend)

looks like he already went to 3.1.3.. o well. i would have told you to download 3.1.2 somewhere on the internet and then load it using itunes and JB using blackrain and unlock using blacksnow..

Why on earth would you tell someone to upgrade to 3.1.3, knowing its unlockable right now? I mean, its in bold on top of the page: DO NOT upgrade to 3.1.3?

Ok now, I think my brother would be happy getting a 5months old 3GS, he can use it with his AT&T-SIM. Thanks to battlecrushr My Brother is looking out for a 3.1.2 on craigslist for me...
