    Default CA't unlock 3gs 5.11.07

Okay, so I've unlocked a couple dozen iPhones, but with the iTunes verification, its a whole new monster.

I have a 3gs that I purchased right after the verification thing started. Its on 3.1.2, 5.11.07 bb, made on the 38th week (according to sim tray).

No shsh on file with cydia (since I got it after the verification thing started).

I use custom ipsw, jailbroken. But when I run blacksn0w, the phone re-boots, and Im stuck at the apple logo.

Yes, ive turned off 3g, reset network settings, even tried the no wifi install of blackrain. Nothing seems to work.

Cannot use redsn0w, because that is for bb 4.26.. I did try it, but iphone just says searching, never finds signal.

Can custom ipsw be used with blacksn0w on bb5.11.07?

Also, I dont own a mac, but have tried on xp, vista, and 7. No luck on any of them.

Been working on this every nite for the past 3 weeks. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I could have sworn the new redsn0w could jailbreak 3.1.3. I don't think the baseband matters for jailbreaking.

Custom ipsw can be used with blacksn0w on that baseband.

You could try using another custom ipsw, the one you have might be faulty. Just a suggestion.

    Thanks for the response.

I have tried at least seven different customs, and none have worked.

    This is from Quickpwn:

It’s possible to unlock iPhone 3.1.2 but only if your baseband has not been updated to 05.11.07 or the newer baseband, you must create a custom firmware that uses the 04.26.08 baseband.

    So I'm still stuck....

He just said when he runs blacksn0w his phone hangs at apple logo.

Have you tried redsn0w at all? It works for FW 3.1.2

Oh wait I just reread. Redsn0w is a jailbreak tool I think youre mistaking it for something else. If you want an unlock blacksn0w is your only option. Try adding a new repo to add blacksn0w. Google "alternative repo for blacksn0w"

Yes, ive run blacksn0w, ive downloaded from 3 different repositories, same problem. Hangs at reboot on apple logo.

Also tried installing thru winscp and diskaid, same problem.

And you are correct, redsn0w is a jailbreak tool, not unlock tool. Well, not an unlock tool for bb 5.11.07., as I quoted earlier.

Sn0wbreeze doesnt fair any better for my problem. Getting really frustrated.

Thanks again for trying to help. Still open to suggestions?

Hi. I registered because of this post. I have the exact same problem.
I have a 3Gs on 3.2.1 custom firmware baseband 05.11.07. I'm in Bahrain. The thing I cant wrap my brain around is how it happened.
I've been using my iPhone for around 4 months now and it was fine. Yesterday, I was walking around in a mall and the apple logo simply popped up!
I went back home and restored, used Blacksn0w as usual and... the iPhone keeps searching for signal until it freezes again. Which is kinda ironic because it gets really hot in the process.
so WTF happened? It was fine yesterday morning, and I didn't upgrade anything or download anything. I was walking around in a mall!

I had exactly the same problem!

    I have found a solution!

You need to restore first to a clean official firmware and then you can jailbreak and unlock it. Unfortunately if you haven't got the shsh on file you re out of luck.

The problem is that when restoring to an official firmware it probably clears more than in case of a custom restore. So if your modem cannot be unlocked using blacksn0w after custom restore you need to make official restore.
