I bought an iPhone 2G (first generation) off of eBay with hopes to unlock it to use on T-Mobile. The listing didn't say the firmware of the device and I didn't think it mattered because I thought that you can always downgrade without a problem. After doing some research on 3.1.3, I realized that wasn't the case.
If the iPhone 2G comes with 3.1.3 already installed on it, can I still downgrade to 3.1.2 and jailbreak/unlock the phone to work on T-Mobile? Does the 3.1.3 update for the iPhone 2G affect the baseband like it does for the 3G and the 3GS?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Anybody?

yes u can downgrade. you can actually leave it on 3.1.3 fw and jailbreak and unlock it but with redsn0w. 3.1.3 does not update baseband. if u leave it on 3.1.3 things like MMS and tethering wont work
