That's exactly the deal, you will have to restore to 3.1.3, a new jailbreak should happen soon, well within a month perhaps when the OS is released.

well i readed the whole post and i think u have a locked iPhone (locked on to some sim card (network) that is not in the phone) so if u have the sim card than insert it, if not u can not use the iPhone. The iPhone with 3.1.3 can NOT be jailbroken yet. So u have to wait for the Jailbrake. and a NOT Jailbroken iPhone is NOT working without a simcard ....

If it is an AT&T sim, yes it should.

Well, you can activate it with an AT&T sim card, a prepaid might work.

Well it depends on what carrier your iPhone was locked to, so mostly in US is AT&T and in England or Germany is mostly O2...

Well REDCARD, i m helping if i know how to ... cos we dont know if its stolen...

for example mine is not stolen was bought in UK PAY&GO by O2, but in my country there is no O2 carrier so i had to unlock it too... and i know i should buy than some in my country, well the iPhone was restricted in Slovenia becos it is a build IN batery PHONE and here you can only sell phones witch batery can be replaced by user...
