Blacksn0w Causes Endless Reboot - OS 3.1.2
I was using blacksn0w fine before, now problems except for the usual wifi/connection issues. However, the other day i was forced to reinstall my custom 3.1.2 firmware. Everything went smooth, but once I installed Blacksn0w the phone, wifi cut out, Searching appeared, and the phone became very sluggish. Upon reboot, the phone just loops and keeps rebooting.
I've tried recreating the custom firmware, ive tried running blackra1n, ive tried redsn0w, I've even tried install other cydia apps and they work fine after reboot. but for some reason Blacksn0w is causing my phone to crash.
iPhone 3GS (old bootrom)
05.11.07
iPhone OS 3.1.2
NEVER UPDATED TO 3.1.3
Any thoughts?

Hmm. I am aware of issues with blacksn0w and3.1.3 but, im not on 3.1.3... so this still seems rather weird.
I'm told restoring to stock firmware 3.1.2 would help but I cant because i dont have SHSH on file.
Here is some more info on what I am seeing at Verbose Boot,
AppleBCMWLAN seems to be acting up after installing blacksn0w. I continue to see "Baseband Reset, wifi down"
Also tries to perform a NAND restore during boot, something i never saw before installing blacksn0wLast edited by nickhesson; 02-14-2010 at 01:07 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Sorry to bump an old thread but I am currently having the same problem. It started when I applied a live wallpaper theme I made and the phone just turned off on its own. Then it began to reboot endlessly. I then had to restore using a custom 3.1.3 firmware to keep my iPhone 3G baseband at 5.11.07. It worked fine until I added the blackra1n source in Cydia and installed blacksn0w. My phone turned off on its own and the endless reboot began.

Solution is to flash a new 05.11.07 bb to the phone: blacksn0w crashes 3.1.2 firmware 05.11.07 baseband 3GS, no shsh on file (Solution) extechblog

Crazyfool2100, I thank you! Been fighting with a 3gs I bought right after apple required verification, and was stuck in the endless boot loop. I flashed the bb (scary stuff) and ran blacksn0w rc2, and Im unlocked!! Jailbreaking was easy, but I couldnt get the damn thing unlocked. Also, I'm lucky. No tethered jailbreak.
Again, I thank you for the link and ending my battle.
