For ppl that can't restore 3gs 3.1.2

If you can't restore 3gs 3.1.2 bc of apple not signing 3.1.2 anymore. I found a solution for those that doesnt have there shsh on Cydia. All you have to do is use the latest pwnage tool then create a custom firmware from the original 3.1.2 for 3gs.

THIS IS ONLY FOR THOSE THAT HAVE 3GS WITH 3.1.2 and modem 5.11.07 AND HAVE DONE SOMETHING THAT NEED TO RESTORE THE PHONE BACK TO 3.1.2 BUT SOMEHOW CAN'T PASS THROUGH APPLE VERIFYING THE PHONE

For Mac Users:
1. load the 3gs 3.1.2 original firmware under expert mode in pwnage tool
2. I set the space to about 750 mb you can set more
3. then i uncheck "Activate the phone"
4. also uncheck "Cydia installer" as well
5. set your logo to watever you want
6. Then go to build and click next and wait
7. Put in your password to let the build to finish
8. Put your phone into recovery mode and hold alt + click on restore to choose the just-made custom firmware.
9. After the firmware has been restored on the phone
10. Run Blackra1n app and then installed blacksn0w and cydia


The only thing i get sometimes is after unlocking the phone to use tmobile with blackra1n is it will sometime loses connection easily.

I hope it helps some ppl that are stuck now bc they can't update it through itunes and don't want to update to 3.1.3 yet.

awesome! before i wasn't able to get blackra1n to show. by unchecking cydia package, it worked. blackra1n appeared! nonetheless, blacksn0w no longer works.

koolcat, how will it pass the signature test by Apple. when i try to restore any 3.1.2 it says that the device is not eligible. I have 3gs 16gb from 46 week, with 3.1.2 os, but it is not starting, posibbly is corrupted. excuse my english.

you cannot restore a stock firmware. you can still install custom firmware for 3.1.2 as it doesnt check with apple

Ok, i tried, but gets stuck at preparing iphone to restore. i tried with a custom 3.1.2 firmware. after a while it gives me the 1604 error. In dfu mode it gives me the 1600 error.

Do it in recovery mode...sorry didnt get up here on time to reply. Also remember to uncheck cydia so u can install blackra1n. Please post back i wanna know if your 3gs get signal cause mine keep losing and then sometimes it just say no service but most of the time it loses signal really quick.


Well can anyone confirm this for me. I have the 3gs running 3.1.2 on modem 5.11.07 and my tmobile signal keep dropping and i get no service alot. Is it my phone is messed up or is it the firmware + unlocking issue? thanks

Problem i think . I didn't manage to do anything, same error. Now, i downloaded The Firmware Umbrella -semaphore v221, thinking that maybe the previous owner of the phone has saved the shsh file. When i enter the ECID number, and select the 3.1.2 device version, put Saurik-cydia at the Shsh repository, and push Submit button, i get the folowing message: "could not get the ECID shsh for that model/version: sorry." OK
But when i enter 3.1.3 at the device version an push the submit button it says: "SHSH saved!File: 3632368070135 - iphone-3.1.3.shsh"
I dont get it, I have the 3.1.3 firmware??? i did give the phone to a couple of guys who know how to unlock. They sad that it can not be unlocked because it must be 3.1.3, and that is unlockable at the moment. I know i dindt put that firmware. I hope they didnt updated it somehow
Is thare any way to find out what firmware is installed? my phone wont get past the emergency menu. Thanks

i tried to unlock an iphone 3Gs to 3.1.3 baseband 5.11.07 , but in cydia when i install the blackra1n.com cydia goes freeze and when restart the iphone it stuck on apple logo and the gear inside .

Solution : i use PwnageTool_3.1.5 with firmware 2.1 of 3.1.2 and not the 3.1.3 , than i put the iphone on DFU mode remove usb from computer than turn off the iphone , press home button plug the usb cable till have the itunes logo with cable . After all done i can add balackra1n.com to cydia and the iphone worked again , any more details send me to [email protected]

See i did the same thing and when i add blackra1n and blacksn0w i get tmobile service for a while and then i get No service for a long time. It keeps on doing tat.
