Default iPhone 2G Stuck at Logo without a Windows PC

Hey there, yesterday I got an iPhone 2G in the mail and I brought it to school and lent it to my friend. He said it turned off after he downloaded Cydia from blackra1n (which was on the iPhone when I received it) and downloaded an app from it or something. I turned it on and it keeps getting stuck at the Apple. I know all the ways I can fix this about the INSERT_LIBRARIES and such, but the problem is I have a Mac computer, not Windows and all the iPhone browsing applications for Mac do not support editing the files, only copying them. I was wondering if there was something I could do to make my iPhone work again? I would appreciate it superbly, I really need it fixed because my mom will kill me!!

You can put it in DFU mode and restore it.

Restore is the best thing for you since you just got it.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention my computer doesn't recognize it at all. Not even DiskAid or iPhone Explorer. Any way to make it recognize it so I can restore?

I haven't attempted putting it into DFU mode, so I'll try that.
