I was given a 3G phone from my husband which turned out to be a Hong Kong copy. The phone works and must be unlocked because I could can use my SIM card from my other phone and I get sms as well as phone calls.
The main problem for me is that iTunes does not recognize that there is a device and I can not add any apps. If I plug the phone into the usb port of my pc (I am running Windows Vista) I can pull up all folders so I can transfer music and pictures but that is about it. I would like to be able to add more apps (can transfer the app to a folder, but can't install on the phone.) I do not have wifi on the phone and this is one app I would like to have.
How is the best way to proceed, which software do I need and what would be the steps to accomplish this? Thanks for any help.
Sounds to me they got the clone and not a real iPhone. Sorry to say but you can't use apple apps. Can you please post a pic some of us may want to see what it looks like.
I am pretty sure it is a clone. I did read that the Chinese iphones do not have wifi so whether this is a copy or just a Chinese iphone I can not tell. Main reason I believe it has to be a copy is that there is no itunes app on the phone. Thanks for inquiring.
