Hi guys, hopefully someone can give me some advice here.
I have had the 2G iphone since they basically came out, although I am with O2 in the UK, I have never actually "activated" the phone with apple, I have always downloaded the custom firmware files, and installed via DFU restore mode etc. I am now considering getting the 3GS, (again from O2) and was wondering, do I activate the phone through itunes, or do I carry on installing custom firmware, which is already activated, unlocked, jailbroken etc.
I don`t really want to enter into any sort of contract with apple, I prefer to just carry on as I have been doing, using my same sim card that I have had for over 15 years now, same Tel No etc.
Are there any benefits to activating through itunes, or adversley, are there any negative points activating through itunes.
Hopefully someone can help as I am really confused about all this.
