iPhone 3G/3Gs sim card unlocking in different countries

Hi.. I am planning to buy an iphone from other countries then use it in my hometiwn.. The matter is.. Can i unlock it when i recieved it? Like doing the unlocking thing in my hometown? Do i need anything to unlock it? And i heard of the blacksn0w. Can i use it to unlock the iphone in my iwn country? This is probably a stupid question but thanks for the great help!

Blackra1n to jailbreak 3.1.2 FW

Ultrasn0w to unlock 4.26.xx BB

Google the guides for Blackra1n or Redsn0w. I'd recommend upgrading to 3.1.2 if you're not already on it. Blackra1n is fast and easy to use and 3.1.2 is worth upgrading to.
