Unlocking services

Has anyone tried any of the online "automatic" unlocking services or know of any that work?

They are scam
just use blacksn0w or ultrasn0w for free

They work but it costs money and they use the same unloking services as u can for free

The reason I ask is because I find the unlocking instructions confusing, I'm not that good with computers. I don't mind paying to have someone do it if it will work.

Ok then I'll tell u how to do it for free. First do u have a iPhone 2g, 3g or 3gs

This may sound odd, but I don't know yet. My friend is sending me his, it got a little wet and the camera stopped working for a while. In the meantime he went and bought a new one (Money's no object to him when he's in a hurry) I do know it's either a 3g or 3gs

Ok 3g and 3gs use the same service
make sure ur on 3.1.2. If ur not upgrade with iTunes

then go to blackweather
and download blackrain ipen it and connect ur iPhone and click make it Rain. Then when it's done on ur homescreen open the blackra1n icon and install cydia and blacksn0w. Ull now be jailbroken and unlock

Does it matter that I don't have an AT&T sim?

My service is through a local GSM provider called IMMIX, They have their own towers plus they use AT&T and T-Mobile towers

No it doesn't matter when it says unvalid sim when u run blackra1n it skips that

By the way, the 2G iphone has a silver back (metal) and the 3G and 3Gs have a plastic casing (black or white).
