Edge still shows after disabeling

My 3g is Jailbroken and Unlocked, I disable Edge using BossPrefs, but the E still shows next to my carrier. Is this normal?. I was told to install iphonenodata, can I run them both?.

It's normal, to check whether the edge data connection is on, just open safari on your iphone, safari will load if data connection is available. Another thing is, for edge connection to be functional, you must key in the correct APN of your provider(Setting>General>Network>Cellular Data Network). You should also check the data usage regularly (Setting>General>Usage), if the data usage show the increament, it means that the edge connection has been used by the iphone when wifi signal is week.Installing iphonenodata might help. Easier way to disable edge or 3G is by installing SBSetting from cydia.
