    Default Genuine unlock

Hi guys and girls, im currently running a 3gs with blackra1n jailbreak and unlock. Has anyone done the genuine unlock from 02 i have applied for this apparently when you get a text message through then connect to itunes it unlocks genuine with apple.
The question is would i have to reset back to factory settings before doing this procedure? I'll add the link to the O2 website, Any information on this would be very helpful!
    Thanks in advance
p.s reason for unlock is that im using an orange sim.

Default O2 unlock works fine but....

    Hi Randers,

I got the factory unlock done for my wife and my own iPhone 3GS.

It takes about one week almost two weeks and than you get the message your phone has been unlocked.

This is just the half truth.

My iPhone was jail-broken and unlocked with blackra1n etc. but I had to restore my phone to receive the factory unlock otherwise you will not see the famous screen on iTunes "Congratulations, your iPhone is now unlocked"

Of course I jail-broke my iPhone again and all the apps and settings were still there after restore and backup.

    Hope that helped

    Cheers

    Dirk

You dont need to restore if you havn't unlocked with blackra1n or ultrasn0w etc, and your phone is only jailbroken after getting the official unlock txt message..
SSH to /var/root/Library/Lockdown/activation_records and delete wildcard_record.plist (make a backup to your desktop first) then Reboot the phone.
When you reboot your phone, it will ask for activation again in itunes, allowing you to easily put in your official sim card and activate with iTunes then you should see the "Congratulations, your iPhone is now unlocked"
