2g unlocked and jailbroken activation problem.. PLEASE HELP ME!

I think i posted this in the right section this time but....Hello guys im kinda a noob here! I was wondering i have a 2g 16gig iphone. When i bought it (used) all the apps and home screen came up and everything, it just said no sim card. When i put my sim card in it would go strait to itunes cord symbol and would only let me make emergncy calls. I let my girl friends mom mess with it (bad idea ) and whatever she did my girlfriend had to do a hard reset and set it back to factory settings now it wont let me go back to the home screen it just keep saying "no sim card installed, Insert valid SIM with no PIN lock to activate iphone..." Mind you i do have At&T just not with a iphone plan... could someone please help me! I have no idea what to do... I also ran the firmware unlock and jailbreak software on there successfully... what do i need to do to use the phone..?

What do you mean you ran the unlock and jailbreak software? does that mean your at the homescreen or still stuck at that itunes logo?

If i were you, i'd boot the phone in recovery mode (turn the phone off, and hold the home button while you plug in the cable), then do a clean restore to 3.1.2
Then just run blackra1n to hacktivate, after that you should be able to use the AT&T sim. (not 100% sure if you even need to unlock it, but if it was previously unlocked, it is still unlocked)

I ran the redsn0w off this web site to unlock and jail break it... It was not unlocked when i got it... Im still stuck at the Itunes logo it wont go any futher then that. When i turn the phone on it goes to that or you can dial a emergncy number thats it... How do i do a clean restore, I think thats what i did last night (thats why i have to activate it) and run blackra1n? Ok i just ran blackra1n and its still doing the same thing i didnt know how to do a restore on it tho so do i need to do the whole thing over again..?

did the steps you said but it didnt work do i need to have my sim card in while im running blackra1n? Everytime i run black rain the itunes reconizes it but doesnt connect keep saying its in recovery mode iv already updated it itunes even said its updated.... uhhh this phone is confusing i should stick to windows moblie phones... ha ha
