"No Wifi" displays in gray after unlock iphone 3.1.2
I got my new iPhone 3GS 3.1.2 unlocked in CEX store, I have two problems now.
1. Tethering problem, each time I restart the phone need to connect to blackra1n on the computer and sometimes it does not do it one go, try it multiple times.
2. MAJOR PROBLEM with WiFi, it displays 'no wi-fi' in gray.
I have tried resetting network settings and resetting all data and settings. But no luck yet.
Someone told me to remove rock application, I did that too. Cydia application is still there on iPhone.
The store guy told me that developers may release a solution for the first problem soon. I am planning to go to store again to fix the wifi problem. I am not sure if he can fix that problem.
I would really appreciate it if someone could fix the problem of wifi. I have already spent $500 on my iPhone and would like to make it work on my network.
Thank You in advance.

my advice would be to restore with itunes to 3.1.2 and jailbreak/activate with blackra1n and unlock with blacksn0w.

And for it telling u that u need to jailbreak everytine u reboot it's cause it's a tethered jailbreak and the iPhone 3gs ad ipt3g aren't fully jailbroken. Maybe an exploit in the future

Okay, i had the same problem "grayed out wifi" with my ipod touch 2g, restoring and anything else didnt help. So the trick is. to downgrade to 2.2.1, which if your on 3.1.2 is a little tricky. after downgaded, put in dfu, and then click restore in itunes..you're wifi should work fine.
Steps: Download 2.2.1 firmware for your specific iphone firmware from : iPod and iPhone Firmware Download
Put iPhone in DFU, hold shift and click restore in iTunes, and select the firmware you downloaded.
After it restores to the 2.2.1 firmware, put it in DFU mode once again, and then click restore in itunes, and let it restore and update to the 3.1.2 firmware.
Wifi should work fine. Btw. i Havent tested jailbreaking afterLast edited by Ohs0flyMar; 01-15-2010 at 08:14 AM.
