Unlocking 1st Gen (2G or Edge) and using with T-Mobil Sim - HELP!

Hello Everyone,

I've been trying to do just as the title says and I have not had any luck. Please help, much appreciation.

I've tried to...

Step 1: Upgrade to stock Apple 3.1.2 firmware
Step 2: Run Blackra1n on computer
Step 3: Install Cydia and/or Rock on iPhone
Step 4: Search for and install Bootneuter on Cydia
Step 5: Run Bootneutor
Step 6: Enjoy unlocked iPhone 2G!

doesnt work, i get the locked sim at the top of left part of my iphone when sim inserted

I've also tried using redsnow + pc method and that doesnt work either. All this however works for internation sims as I was in asia and used one of the sims there and worked fine.

Remove your SIM PIN Lock

Put your SIM in another phone (ie, Razr or something) and remove the pin lock

You have to do those steps WITH your Tmobile card in there.

bits try this.
this worked for me 11/13/09 iphone 2g 3.1.2 jailbroken with blackra1n. after bootneuter
1- install afc2add from Cydia.
2- Reboot iPhone
3- Download and run DiskAid on your computer: Disk Mode for your iPhone or iPod Touch ? - Download DiskAid for PC Windows and Mac OSX
4- In DiskAid, click on the bottom left and select “root”. Then on the folders go to: private –> var –> root –> library. There you will find a folder named “Lockdown”. Copy this folder to your computer to back it up in case things don't work out.
5- Then click on “Delete from device”.
6- Restart your iPhone.

Ok so something way easier.
Download on your computer "blackra1n"
then "cydia"
go into "manage" in cydia
then "sources"
"edit"
"add"
repo666.ultrasnOw.com
Then find "bootneuter 2.0"
download
Run bootneuter (it should take about 5-10 min)
Restart your phone.
Should work. Thats all I had to do.

i've done everything like deleting the folder. but after i put in the sim, it gets rid of the emergency call screen and allows me to use my iphone, but there is no signal. after showing no bars for a couple minutes, the icon turns into 'No Service' and just stops. I've plugged it back into diskaid and found the Lockdown folder again and deleted it. I then rebooted the iphone with the sim card and it just repeats the ordeal. Any help?

Wow, thats really strange. Im not famillar with discaide.
Any reason why bootneuter wont work? (frozen? wont download?)
It doesnt load?
Im really saying here, those steps were the easiest.
Without installing any exta files on your comoputer.
Do you have cydia & rock on it?
The no service screen is a good sign, it means its accepted your card...almost.
Go restore your phone. Blackrain it, & do the steps Ive told you.
All with the card in there.
Just try it one more time.
You have to keep trying. It took me about 2 days to hack mine to take my tmobile sim.

Haha niice man. I didn't know if I should've restored but I did and jailbroke it again. I tried bootneuter and the damn thing worked. I put my sim in and reboot and it showed the connect to iTunes thing. After that I replaced a file using a program to open the iPhone and now I have tmobile! Thanks a lot guys!
