iphone 3g 8 gig problem

ive got a real problem, i have an iphone 3g 8 gig from usa, im in uk an use a uk 02 sim, i did jailbreak on 3.1.2 FW (7D11) few months ago an it was fine then my stupid girl updated it in itunes an it would only let me call 999/911 so i redone a JB using blackrain as before only then i had no wi-fi, so again i redone the JB still nothing, tried to reset network in settings/genral/network/ but thers no cellular ther so i tried to reset network using the reset network at the bottom of settings/genral no joy again, so then i tried restoring using a custom firmware from mega upload off (max besnard) never worked, so i tried downgrading using redsnow with FW 3.0 never worked and almost killed it, so had to restore to the original 3.1.2 firmware i had stored on my pc, but i get=itunes cannot activate your iphone because the sim card is not inserted or a sim pin is required, but if i put the sim in the iphone says insert a valid sim with no pin lock, then wen i put the sim in, i just get the itunes cable an itunes disk logo and im back to the slide for emergency calls what the f*%k can i do to sort it out, cos if i use the blackrain again im sure i wont have any wi-fi again, then i cant unlock the sim and will have to do another restore an its doing my head in big time!!!!!!!!! oh by the way ive been tryin to fix it for 3 days now was at it for like 12 hours solid the first day

When you get no wifi have you tried to reset the phone by holding down the power button and the home button until the phone reboots?

Just jailbreak with blackra1n again and reset that way and see if wifi comes back on.

i thought no wifi was related to blacksn0w, not blackra1n... but it could be...

i'd just use blackra1n again, and if your wifi still doesn't detect anything, give it a couple reboots. If the wifi still doesn't work after 5 reboots and 3 network resets (random numbers, but you get the idea), then i'd downgrade to 3.0, and upgrade to a custom 3.1.2. (be sure your in DFU mode, if dfu doesn't work, try recovery)

Also the dev team says you don't need to use recovery or dfu if your device is jailbroken, so you could also try blackra1ning your phone right now, and if it doesn't work, try restoring to custom 3.1.2 ipsw, while in normal mode.
