Is there such a thing as just a unlock ???

was wondering is there such a thing as just an unlock without jailbreaking and then using snow to unlock my sis got the new boot rom in her 3gs but she dosent care about jailbreak she just wants an unlock im pretty sure its not possiable but i may be wrong any 1 ???????

The current unlock tools are mods which aren't signed by Apple.

In order to run anything not signed by Apple, you need to be jailbroken.

So, in short, besides an offical unlock, you need to jailbreak in order to unlock

jailbreak is the only option. with the new bootrom she will have a tethered jailbreak which means she will have to re-blackra1n it every time the phone reboots. just buy a factory unlocked one, tho those are rather pricey. if that's not an option, then AT&T is the only other option. Unless she doesn't mind the tethered jailbreak. Jailbreaking however, is by means the only unlock possibility on a non-factory unlocked phone but it won't affect anything. She doesn't have to use the other cool possibilities made possible with the jailbreak tools except for the unlock.
