Hi I bought an iphone 3gs for my girl for christmas... she strictly hates contracts so i had to pay a hefty price for it. So I got it unlocked and jailbroken with an apn changer and blacksnow and now every time the battery dies or restart or anything that might have to do with restarting the phone it goes into recovery mode and u must use blacksnow once again in order to save your files. I am just curious is there a fix for this anywere? Has any1 with 3.1.2 unlocked their iphone 3gs successfully without this annoyance? If so please help me with this... I am stuck and if I have to downgrade from 3.1.2 let me know. Thanks in advance.
BTW I have the 3g and its unlocked the same way with no problems.
Welcome to MMi,
Nothing that can be done, yet (perhaps in the future), it is the new boot-rom.
you will continue to have to re-jailbreak it after every re-start.
There is no downgrading for it. The new iphone 3gs's have a new bootrom that hasn't been cracked, so you will have to run blackra1n on EVERY reboot, till it is cracked. there is NO way around that!
run blackra1n and it works accept need to run blackra1n if phone switch. this still bearable.
lately tried pwnagetool 3.1.4. it doesn't work.
i think stupid me to restore from itune, not the 'option + restore'.
try blackra1n again. i think work but the blackrain drop does not appear. i (just) think the jailbreak was successful because when i switch off, the recovery mode turns on. than blackra1n again, and able to start up. but the same problem persists, the blackrain drop not appearing.
HELP: how can i bring back the blackrain drop? or install cydia?
(note that i do not have ssl, whatsoever.)
btw, supposed to run blackrain on my mac, but everytime i double click on the blackrain it just won't start. running mac os x 10.5.8, itune 9.0.2 (25).
