Question 3GS 3.1.2 unlock without jailbreak???

I recently got a new 3GS (excited but sad lol) I am willing to wait on a jailbreak by GreenPoison or Geo but I at least wanted to be able to unlock my phone with the possibly of restarting it without a problem. I was curious is there a way for me to jailbreak.... unlock then uninstall jailbreak? I know it sound impossible but I figured the best place to find the answer would be on the best iphone mod sites around. Like is there ANYTHING i could do to at least hold an unlock without a jailbrak because it seems to me like the new Iboot has a problem with the jailbreak and not so much the unlock.

I'm a newbie so bare with me lol....

No. You have to jailbreak first then unlock.

Not really. The program (cydia) doesn't do anything, take up memory or anything just by being on your phone. I don't see what the big deal is.

The only way to unlock it without jailbreaking it is to pay the provider who you bought it from to send a request to apple to unlock it. Then no matter what updates come out, it will be unlocked

Allthough, I don't think AT&T will do that... They might if you don't have a contract....
