PWNage quits everytime. Can't unlock first gen.

I am having problems unlocking and jail breaking my 1st generation iPhone. I have been going step by step thru the PWNage Tool. It gets to the last part of the Pwnage process then the Pwnage tool quits. Quits everytime I try.

I am thinking it could be because this iPhone was activated with ATT and has the latest updates. Do I need to downgrade first?

What can I do ?

Hmm. Sounds like something might be messed up on your mac...

Try loading disk utilities, and then do a repair permissions on your system drive... Maybe that will help. If not, try a different mac.

I did repair permissions and use another mac. That was not the problem.

Still quits in the building .ipsw part. Any other suggestions from anybody?

Try downloading pawn tools again. Maybe your is corrupt.

no. I downloaded again. Go line by line of instructions and PWNage tool quits during .ipsw process everytime.

I did notice that on the guides page it says:

"This guide will show you how to jailbreak, unlock, and activate firmware 3.0 on the iPhone 2G (not the iPhone 3G, not the iPhone 3G S) all at once using a custom .ispw created with PwnageTool 3.0. You need to download PwnageTool 3.0 and the iPhone 2G 3.0 firmware file. "

But on the pwnage tool download page it says that tool is for the 3.0 iphone. It says "this can be used to firmware 3.0 on the iPhone 3g, iPhone 3g, and iPod Touch 1g." I cant get it to work.

Maybe the first first iPhone 3G was a typo?

Either way PWNage Tool is not working for my 1st Generation iPhone 2.0

Only thing I can think of is that maybe my first gen 2.0 has the latest ATT firmware on it and maybe that is throwing it off.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
