Default iPhone with no data + no text

The AT&T data plan is killing me, and I hardly ever use it. I have 2 iPhones on my account, and would love to kill the data plans and text plans if possible. I'm not sure if this is possible or not. I have no problem altering software, switching carriers, etc. I would rather stick with AT&T, but I realize that may not be an option.

I called AT&T and had them block text + internet from my phone. Dropped the iPhone data. Then I swapped my SIM back into the iPhone, and it is all blocked. We'll see...

I also setup the iPhone as a new iPhone, and did not update carrier settings. Currently running 3.1.2 for firmware.

I am not sure if that will work for AT&T, but I do know that you can use the iPhone's on T-Mobile network and don't have to have the data and text, you can have just a voice plan with those phones. With the firmware you have you can unlock with Blackra1n (jailbreak) and Blacksn0w (unlock).
If I helped you hit the "Thanks"!

Wife and I have been using iPhones data free and without the data charge. That bill is much more doable for us.
