3G Won't activate

Iphone 3G just will not Activate.
Replaced the speaker after it failed, the speaker now works but there is no service and is saying Waiting for Activation!
Installed blackra1n and run the unlock but it still won't activate.
Any ideas anyone?

Still pulling my hair out on this one!
I have tried evrything I can to get this Activated, including Blackra1n and Snow RC3 as it is now 3.1.2 but this just hasn't don anything.
Also ried the Iphone Activation server which is out there but again - Still waiting for Activation.

I am not even looking to unlock as I have a proper Iphone O2 SIm that is working.

Anyone know if the hardware can dtect a change and prevent activation somehow?

If you are using the phone unlocked then restore and let blackra1n "hacktivate" the phone rather then letting iTunes do it. You will then download blacksn0w for the unlock. If you still don't get service I would venture to say you damaged the hardware when you had the phone taken appart.

Thanks - I tried Blackra1n and then snow and it didn;t activate.
Not sure how the hardware holds the activation when everything else seems to work.

Try making a ROM with pawnage and see if that works.

Can you point me to some insturctions to do that and which is the correct version of pwnage - I see various versions mentioned in the forums for different firmware.
