jail-broken, unlocked and now official unlock?, any problems to expect
Dear All,
I got my 3GS jailb-broken and ulocked with Geoholts-Tools (thanks Geholt!) and have no problems, Wifi, Push and other SIM whatsoever
Now I am about to get the official unlock code from my provider through iTunes.
Will there be any problem because the iPhone is unlocked and jail-broken?
How will the official unlock code react with my iPhone?
Any idea or advice is very welcome
However, I do like to keep my iPhone Jailbroken
Thanks
Dirk
Update
Ok, got a text message from my provider telling me my iPhone is now unlocked and if I want to use another SIM just do so and connect to iTunes as usual.
Got no other sim, yet.
Connected to iTunes and hoped to see the your phone is now unlocked message.
Did not happen :-(
However, will this be happening if I insert a different SIM or is it just not showing because my iPhone is already jail-brocken and unlocked by Geholts-Tools?
Any Ideas, please reply.
Dirk
P.S. I hope to get a SIM soon and will of cause update and let you all know.Last edited by DirkME; 12-07-2009 at 11:06 AM. Reason: Update:

Restore your phone then plug into iTunes to get the "factory" unlock.

factory unlocked and now, good to jailbreak?
Thank you Poseidon79,
I did as you said and got the famous Message from iTunes, yeeppphieee!
However, I liked the jailbreak version for some special apps.
If I jailbreak it again,
it should not have any effect on my factory unlock
and in worst case scenario, if I wouldn't take care after a firmware update, I would have my factory unlock iPhone still working, right?
And the Blackra1n jailbreak doesn't do any thing to push wifi etc?
(I had no problems before, jail-broken and and unlocked)
Thanks a lot for your help Poseidon79

You'll be fine, just run blackra1n to jailbreak it.

all works fine
Ok,
just jail-broke it and all settings, even from the Softphone App were updated :-)
Thanks Guys for your help.
Now I got a factory unlocked iPhone and got it jail-broken :-)
I will now just take care not to-do an Firmware update or my jail-broke would be lost.
Thanks, great Forum for help

Sweet talk
My iPhone 3GS is only two months old so the operator didn't have to unlock it. I'd like to think it was my background in sales and negotiation that sealed the deal, but I was probably just luck...
