Default On O2 but want to switch to Orange

As stated int he title, I am currently on o2.
I am using a unjailbroken 3gs at the moment.

I was wondering: because iPhones now work with orange does this mean that I can just put an orange sim in and it will work?
Or because I have activated the phone with an o2 sim card in it will the phone no longer will work with an orange sim?

    Thanks in Advance.

Alright very simple. so first off when did you get your iphone? if you got it before like two months ago, I recommend restoring to allow the activation to be reset, then use blackra1n (website is blackra1n.com) which is a simply one click jailbreak/unlock tool. just run it from a mac or windows computer, then just from there google how to use blackra1n to jailbreak and unlock your iphone cheers :-) if you have any questions im me at matin2x
REMEMBER ONE THING, WHEN YOU RESTORE DO NOT PUT THE SIM IN THERE UNTIL YOU UNLOCK YOUR IPHONE, ASSUMING YOU HAVE WIFI. SO WHEN YOU RESTORE, TAKE OUT THE SIM BEFORE ITUNES CAN SEE YOUR IPHONE, THEN PROCEED TO JAILBREAKING WITH BLACKRA1N.

You could try for an official permanant unlock from O2

Mine was on PAYG & only 2 months old.

Applied to unlock on their website, just needed to ensure I had £15 of credit on it. Took about 4 days for text to confirm it had been done.

Then put my Orange sim in and synced with iTunes - message appeared that phone was unlocked

    No future worries now
