Default possible unlock with iphone 3gs 3.1.2 have a question

Okay so i just restored to 3.1.2, this was fully locked to att, then i used blackra1n to jailbreak, somehow when i ran the app from my phone it also decided to install blacksn0w, idk why, but i closed blacksn0w before it could finish, that is when it shows "post log." i was scared it was unlocked cuz i dont need it to be unlocked. when i put an old school att sim from like 10 years ago or so, it didnt say that i had an unlocked sim or not. basically i think my phone is unlocked. my question is if it is unlocked if i updated to a new software that apple relases at some point in time, will the newer baseband update brick my phone? fyi i already restored to the original firmware after i potentially unlocked my phone and it restored perfectly.
if what i said seems a little unclear ask me, and sorry.

The unlock is completely software and 100% safe. And type of restore, even an update through iTunes, will relock the device, it would be like it never happened
The only thing I ask in return for helping, is that you click the thanks button, Thanks!

Okay so what if I let's say my iPhone is unlocked
with blacksn0w. And let's say apple releases a software update that cotains a baseban that is newer than what I hve that 5.11, if I update through iTunes my
    phone won't be bricked will
    it?

It wont be bricked, your just wont be able to unlock until a new unlock is available...

If you rely on the unlock, its best to check on here and learn about the update before you do it, just to make sure its safe.
