this afternoon i finally decided to upgrade my phone, most of my programs where outdated and i couldnt get the new one unless i did, so i found a firmware for it went to itunes shift restore, everything was going fine, (i did this also from 1.4 to 2.0 and then again to 2.2 so i have done it before) then the phone shuts off, and restarts and starts loading and then i get an ivalid sim message that reads "NO SIM INSTALLED, INSERT A VALID SIM WITH NO PIN LOCK TO ACTIVATE PHONE." now because i have tmobile and NOT at&t my tmobile sim card doesnt work to activate the phone. i found an old card that i had and put it in and itunes wants me to reboot the phone as if i bought it for the first time and first plugged it in, but i dont have a att account i can not do this.
is there anyway around this?
i can receive phone calls and txt msg but can not respond or call out only for an emergency(but i can dial anynumber and it works fine)
could i possibly use a friends att sim and "pretend" like im activating it to that number then just pop my card in when its done? i have no other phone to use in the mean time so i need to figure this out relatively soon, thanks in advance, and sorry for the long story
