Iphone 2g "CommCentre Collision"

I have been given an 2g Iphone 8gb to unlock, it is using baseband 4.05.04g and I have it jailbroken on 3.0(7A341). When I go to use bootneuter however it comes up with the error

"Error
Couldn't talk to the bootloader.

This may be due to
a CommCenter collision,
so BootNeuter will exit."

And I cant get it past this error, any ideas?

Have you tried doing a clean restore and re-jailbreaking (with the unlock included)? I have found this has been the sure fire way to get the 2G unlocked because it performs bootneuter before you have any chance to change any settings that could effect the unlock.

I have tried that yes. I managed to get it running 3.1.2 (took a whole though), but I decided to downgrade to 3.0 to run redsnow and try unlock that way, still didn't work. Comes back to the same error with bootneuter.

I have been having problems with my 2G as well with Bootneuter - I was suggested to downgrading to 3.0 and using redsn0w to jailbreak and unlock, do you have a link handy of instructions to do so (downgrade that is)? if not could you explain?

Try removing the SIM card, then make sure auto-lock is off. Then try again. Worked for me.
