Question Trouble with iphone 2nd gen 3.1.2 unlock w/bootneuter

I have a 2g iphone on 3.1.2 firmware. I used blackra1n to jailbreak and bootneuter to unlock but its still saying different sim card, connect to itunes. It has my tmobile cariier in the upper leeft with bars. When I slide for emergency I can dial any phone number and make a call, but it won't let me do anything else. Any suggestions?? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,

If the jailbreak worked it shouldn't be doing that. Try again...

    Thumbs up had same problem

this worked for me 11/13/09 iphone 2g 3.1.2 jailbroken with blackra1n. after bootneuter
    1- install afc2add from Cydia.
    2- Reboot iPhone
3- Download and run DiskAid on your computer: http://www.digidna.net/diskaid/download.php
4- In DiskAid, click on the bottom left and select “root”. Then on the folders go to: private –> var –> root –> library. There you will find a folder named “Lockdown”. Copy this folder to your computer to back it up in case things don't work out.
5- Then click on “Delete from device”.
    6- Restart your iPhone.
hope this instruction (that were written better than my original explination) help

    Default Thank you

MKLOVN you are a genius. for two days I've been trying with blacra1n and bootneuter. Everything would be fine , I would see the t-mobile connection on top but every time the emergency call page would take over and tell me that I have a different sim card. Until I downloaded the app you specified, installed it (on the iphone) followed its instructions, then download the diskaid (trial)went in the root (at the base of page that opens choose the root) and followed this your instructions. rebooted with my t-mobile sim and it works. Thank you again.

Mklovn that was amazing, simply amazing! I have tried to unlock this 2G 3.1.2 for over a week now and finally I found the thread that did it and it was yours. This should be the premier thread for those who want to get their phone unlocked! Woohoo! Thanks.

    Thumbs up thanks, mklovn

MKLOVN, thanks thanks thanks very much. You nailed it, and saved me stressing any more on this supposedly unlocked/jailbroken and "ready to plug in any sim card and go" phone. Only your fix made it so.

So I followed these instructions... before I did I got past blackrain and neutbooter with tmobile signal but emergency call only... when I would take out the SIM I could get back into the apps.

I completed this last step and rebooted with my tmobile SIM... still on the emergency call screen. Now when I take out the SIM it says "must have a valid SIM to activate".

I cannot use my phone/ipod/any apps now... what should I do.. helpppp~?!

Ok. I have gotten to the point where I can make the calls and recieve them with my T-Mobile SIM card but the screen says "different sim card detected". I just wanna know, if, I go thru with the file deletion and for some reason things dont work out as expected..can I restore it (and how?) to make the iphone go back to the way it was.

    Thankyou

    Default No service after unlock

I used blackra1n to jailbreak I then downloaded bootneuter unlock. Everthing works great except when I put my sim in it says no service. I can't even make emergency calls. If i use bootneuter to lock it again I can make emergency calls but says invalid sim. Not sure if the unlock is completely working. Is there a way to tell if its hardware or software problem without taking it apart?

hearthacker, i deleted the lockdown folder from my iphone then rebooted it, i went back into the iphone with diskaid i found that the lockdown folder was there again but the iphone was unlocked. although for safety reasons the instructions i wrote say to make a copy of the lockdown folder to your computer incase something goes wrong. diskaid does have a option that lets you put it back from your computer to the iphone.

tybas you might wanna try removing the lockdown folder before openning your iphone(check the forums on this website under>iphone unlocking>Trouble with iphone 2nd gen 3.1.2 unlock w/bootneuter for instructions)

Try to use any other SIM card and see the result.

I deleted the lockdown folder from my iphone. No change. I tried a different sim that I know works in iphone still 'no service'. I restored and jailbroke again and unlocked again, (actually it was still unlocked according to bootneuter) still same results. Although now I am able to make emergency calls so there must be some signal right? Are there any apps to check available signals or signal strengths?
