Unlocking with or without original SIM-card?

Hi!

I have a SIM-locked iPhone 3G from T-Mobile. After I bought it, I activated the iPhone via iTunes with its original SIM-Card from T-Mobile. After the iPhone was activated I jailbreaked and unlocked it with Pwnage.

On my last restore I donīt care about the SIM-card and let my prepaid SIM-card in the iPhone, but all functions fine.

Is it better to restore, jailbreak and unlock the iPhone with:

[ ] original SIM-card?
[ ] no SIM-card?

If you are jailbreaking and unlocking by blackra1n then no SIM is needed to activate blackra1n will hactivate it

I am used to do it with Pwnage. Or it is better to use Blackra1n?

I ask, because my iPhone doesnīt display new push mails anymore since my last restore / jailbreak / unlock. I thought it could have to do with the correct activation.
