OK heres the deal, I have a 2 year old at&t phone with text and data service, I got a 2g iphone, just updated and jailbroke, and unlocked, but can't go online with it, it always says, could not activate cellular data service, the wifi will hook up if I'm close enough the wireless router, what can I do to get the cellular network working, did the reset a few times, still not working ....Help !!!
My dad has a 3G from UAE that was so say factory unlocked.
The firmware was 2.1 or there abouts. We upgraded and unlocked for use on orange to 3.0 first iff, but had no internet via 3G even with the correct APN's, then on 3.1.2 still the same.
This phone just does not want to get internet via 3G..can anyone help?

I have one myself which i have unlocked on orange no worries.
His is set up exactly the same, APN same and roaming is on etc.
The 3g symbol is in the top left of the screen as well but the message still appears.
I think hes going to return the phone and get one from Orange UK now they are available.
