i got my own 3g iphone that i updated to the latest firmware and unlocked with blackrain and Snow with no flaws whatsoever
so i told my friend i can do his too but i updated his phone and did blackra1n and his phone has no wifi i then re restored the phone and still no wifi even with blackra1n not on the phone

Hi,

before pushing that reset bottom, write down your network data in Cellular Data, MMS and Visual Voicemail.

Go into settings, than general and on the bottom is reset, there go to reset network settings.

I had no wifi once... All I did was turn airplane mode on, hard reset the phone, turned it back on and it came back. If that doesn't work maybe you should try downloading a 3.1.2 ipsw and using it to shift+restore it in iTunes.
