Default Will unlocking cause issues with my AT&T service?

I've just jailbroken my 3GS for the first time (and am loving life!) and have a question or 2 regarding unlocking. First, if I unlock and am still on the AT&T network, will that cause issues with my service on AT&T? In other words, should I only unlock if I intend to go to another carrier, or would it be transparent to me if I unlock (while on AT&T) and simply allow the option the install a new SIM if needed - say for a trip out of the USA?

I figure I should unlock asap, assuming that you never know when the option might go away, but don't want to screw up my phones performance on the AT&T network - as I won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

Also, is there an option to deinstall Blacksnow if it causes issues? I understand that you can restore the iPhone and that will wipe away Blackra1n/Blacksnow/Jailbreak stuff, but I just got my phone the way I like it. I'd like to know that if I unlock and it does cause issues, I don't have to rebuild.

My stats are: 3GS, just upgraded to 3.2.1 with baseband 05.11.07. Used Blackra1n to install Cydia to jailbreak. Have NOT unlocked yet.

    Thanks

    Cman

The ONLY purpose to unlock is to use another carrier. You can install blacksn0w from Cydia for kicks if you want which makes it uninstallable via Cydia. Add blackra1n.com to your sources. It will not affect your service in any way as far as your AT&T plan or charges.

first... backup your phone using itunes and backup any JB apps through cydia/rock.. that way you can easily restore your phone the way it is..

2nd.. You wont lose this feature or ability unless you upgrade your firmware, so there isnt any rush to unlock your phone if you dont require that functionality..

that being said... I am also using my iPhone on an approved carrier (rogers here in canada) so i didnt need to unlock my phone but i did anyways.. no issues to report.. running newest 3.1.2 firmware and 5.11.07 baseband and fully jailbroken and unlocked using blackra1n/sn0w..
