Which Simcard for activation

Just posting for a bit of advice really, i am on a 3g running 3.0 from an ultrasnow unlock (UK) i am using a Vodafone Simcard at the minute. when reading all the various posts about Blackrain/snow it seems that you don get half the problems with wifi/GPS etc if you upgrade to 3.1.2 on itunes and officially activate, rather than Blackrain having to Hacktivate if you have a rogue sim in when you updated. If this is the case then i would rather have an o2 simcard in but was wondering this, will i be able to activate in itunes if i have a PAYG o2 simcard installed that i could get from my daughters phone? Any thoughts?

Yes you will. I've activated mine with an O2 Pay & Go SIM, then unlocked to use my Orange without any problems.
