No network in Iphone 3g After upgrading to 3.1.2. Please help !?

Hi i recently upgraded my iphone 3g to 3.1.2 (from 2.2) with the custom firmware created by pwnage tool 3.1.4 . While creating the firmware i checked the "Activate" button (cause i wanted to unlock, so i hope i did right here) and as of now i have my baseband (modem firmware) 2.08.01 so this proves that i didn upgraded my baseband . But still whenever i insert my sim it doesn show any signals only dots without the name of the carrier provider, nor does it scan for the available networks in the area.

So i am very much confused about this problem.

It's because Ultrasn0w is not compatible with your low baseband.

You need to restore to a STOCK/OFFICIAL 3.0.1 which will raise your BB to 4.x.x (which IS compatible with Ultrasn0w); then restore your CUSTOM 3.1.2 - which will keep your BB at 4.x and allow you to unlock with Ultrasn0w.

Remember:
- STOCK 3.0.1
- CUSTOM 3.1.2
