My 3G is already Jailbroken, can I just install blacksn0w?

My 3G has been jailbroken with PwnageTool for about a month now and I have a lot of apps on it already. I'm not looking to update to 3.2, but I'm already on 3.1. So if I just install blacksn0w through Cydia, will it just unlock the phone and I'll be able to use it and keep all the files I have on it? Or is it mandatory to re-jailbreak and unlock with the new blacksn0w?

There is no reason to re-jailbreak with a new firmware unless the blacksn0w which you will eventually install from cydia won't work.

3.2 isn't out yet, I think you mean 3.1.2. And yes, ravel is correct there's no reason to re-jailbreak unless something goes wrong with the cydia release of blacksn0w. It's not out yet (AFAIK) so there's no reports coming in.

I'm not certain it will work with 3.1 (as opposed to 3.1.2) but from a technical standpoint I see no reason why it wouldn't.

Just wait and see, I believe geohot said it would be live later today

Same thing here, my 3g was already jailbroken on 3.1 . Just installed blacksn0w via cydia. Waited few minutes and BAAM : network kicked in !

My iPhone 3G is jailbroken and I have firmware 3.0.1, baseband is 5.11.07. Do I have to upgrade to 3.1.2 before I unlock with Blacksn0w or can I just download it and unlock? I would like to keep the apps I already have installed if possible. thank you...........
