blackra1in and emergency screen =(

hey,
i had a jailbrocken 3g with 3.0 firmware since i read that the new blackrain cud jailbreak the 3.12 i updated and ran blackrain and voila i see geohot on my phone and then it says that my phone has been jb'd and to my surprise im stuck on the emergency screen which wants me to activate with a valid sim card
which i dont have =S
help ?
btw blacksnow is around the corner will that help > ? but since i cant run cydia i cant run snow ...so yea im stuck..

the problem is that to use snow i need to have cydia..to have cydia i need to have a access to my main menu ..BUT ..im STUCK on the emergency screen which wants a legit sim which i dont have ..im sure there is a way out of this ..

From what i understand you are using rc1 or rc2 of blackrain. which dont activate or hactivate as it is known(skip that screen you are seeing to the main menu), as far as im aware. I may be wrong about rc2 .

Blackrain RC3 which is being released at 12pm EST, 5PM GMT will hacktivate the phone, skipping the screen you are seeing to a working menu, i think first you will see options to install cydia and blacksn0w if you need them.

Be patient, geohot will announce the unlock and post instructions on On the iPhone at the time of the unlock release.

You have 2 options...Restore with a Custom 3.1.2 Ipsw with Hactivation option CHECKED with Pwnage Tool OR Wait till RC3 comes out and it will do it for you. I myself couldnt stand that pinapple logo or that retarded looking guy while in DFU mode so I restored official 3.1.2. And im stuck in emergency mode. But RC3 is different and will activate your phone with Itunes

oh so rc3 will skip this screen ? =O...and rc3 is going to be released with blacksnow at the same time ?

well the only solution i see now is to go back to 3.0 .and try redsnow and then try blacksnow to unlock..but i doubt i can do it without the rain app which comes with blackra1n now =O

^^go back to 3.0?? Bro there is no going back once you are on 3.1.2

do one thing, restore again using 3.1.2 then try blackra1in....Else you got only 1 choice, get a AT&T sim if you are in the U.S and then activate the iphone. Then use the jailbreak and then unlock with sn0w.

no u can..custon restore shift +restore ..ignore the error and use quick pawn or red snow i forgot the the exact one ..
and voila ...no more activation screen =D

^^yeah, that goes back on firmware, but then what about your baseband? It won't go back IT WOULD STAY at 5.11.07 which is only unlockable if you are on 3.1.2..So its check mate for you unless you activate it from a friend's At&T card.

Then you can try the other option....REstore from Itunes with official 3.1.2 after Going into the DFU mode. Then try with blackra1in.

I used FuzzyBand from Cydia to downgrade my baseband and then i was able to use my jailbroken iPhone with T-Mobile. I runs kind of slow but automatically downgraded my phone from 5.11 to 4.26.08.

I HAD the exact same problem:
iPhone 3G with itunes updated 3.1.2 and latest baseband.
i only need it jailbreaked for now.

-i get stuck at emergency screen after blackrain RC1/2/3.
-i tried to restore using itunes own restore file+ blackrain RC3 = now it works
