What Firmware/Baseband?

Hi,
I am having a nightmare trying to get my phone working so I thought I could try a Turbo SIM. How do I know though what Baseband and Firmware my phone has?

hit the middle button....goto settings...then general...then about..it will tell you the version and your baseband(modem firmware)...what are u tryin to do??

Problem is, I can't get there. Mu phone says it has the wrong SIM and only shows the emergency call option.

I sshould have added that I am just trying to unlock it. I have used redsn0w and also blackra1n but it is still saying 'incorrect Sim'.

you might just have to restore your phone if you never installed 3.1 firmware on ur phone then you wont have to worry. Just find a custom 3.1 ispw file (made by pwnage tool)and restore it to ur itunes (click shift + restore in itunes) it should work for u again
